Apr 26, 2008 Kentucky Fried Chicken complaint by Thomas Snieg |
I was on a weekend pass from active duty, and was on my way home to visit my wife and child. I stopped for food on the way home (10 pieces for $20.00), and when I got home, I found I had received only two three-piece meals. Instead of wasting precious family time by going back, my wife called the toll-free consumer number, and was told a refund would be sent to us.
About two months later, when I was no longer on active duty, nothing had been sent yet, so I called back and was told that they don't send refunds; they merely send a report to the store. I said we hadn't received anything, they said it's up to the store. All they can do is send the report. I asked what recourse we had, she said all she can do is file another report. I asked what I can do when that produces no result, as I assumed it wouldn't. She merely repeated that another report is all she can do, and then it's up to the store. I asked her to send the report, and to send me a copy. She said she can't do that.
After another four weeks of hearing nothing, I followed up with an email to the KFC customer comments email address, and never received a reply. I then went to the store, explained my situation, and asked the manager if there was any way she could help resolve this. She said she never received any reports, and that I should have come back to the store. I said that I figured that because they have a toll-free consumer affairs number, I figured that would suffice, and I didn't want to waste any of my visiting time with my one-year old son by going back to the store.
I asked the manager of the store to talk to her manager. She called her manager, explained the situation, denied receipt of any reports, and didn't make it sound like she was trying to give me the benefit of the doubt, although I'd even brought my orders with me to show her. She hung up the phone and said there was nothing they could do for me, as it was so long ago and they'd received no reports from the consumer affairs people. I asked for her manager's number, but she declined to give it to me. I asked what steps I could take, she said there were no more.
It has now been one year since I've eaten at KFC, and I implore all who read this to switch to Popeyes as a show of support against anti-military tactics and poor customer service attitude.

I'm failing to see how you come to the conclusion that KFC is anti-military. I understand that you received poor customer service (although you probably could have handled it better yourself) and that you are in the military, but you never give any indication that there was any connection.
